Kamenica

Kamenica is a karst village in a cove under the mountain, gray stone on gray stone. Its river ran dry a year ago, and at night something screams beneath the sealed mouth of the Ponor. It is the last safe place above the shaft, and your home between descents.

The village above the shaft

The riverbed that leads up the valley has no river in it. It ends at the foot of the mountain, at a cave mouth stopped with a stone the color of smoke. A crack runs across the stone, and slabs of rock and three new iron clamps hold it shut. Behind it lies the Ponor: a shaft so deep that no one in the village has seen its bottom.

Every session begins at the waypoint in the village square. Walk onto it and your Life and Mana fill up; step back on it from any floor you have unlocked and you are home. Kamenica is always dim and foggy, the clouds heavy with rain that will not fall.
